Crash Team Rumble Will Stop Receiving Content Updates As Of March 4, 2024, Microtransactions Will Be Turned Off, Servers Will Be Kept On

Crash Team Rumble will no longer be supported with content updates from newly-announced indie studio Toys for Bob.

The final content update will be released on March 4, 2024, at which point in-game microtransactions for Crash Coin will be turned off.

Servers aren’t going offline, as Toys for Bob says “the core game will still be live and players will have access to a free 500-tier battle pass that includes 104 new items. This will include all of the battle pass content from Seasons 1 through 3, plus all available event awards.”

Your current Crash Coins also aren’t going entirely to waste, as you can use them to purchase tier skips for the new all-encompassing battle pass.

The news was revealed through an in-game message to players, spotted by Wario64 on Twitter.

While it’s upsetting that Toys for Bob is unable to continue supporting Crash Team Rumble, it’s an understandable choice given the studio is now going off on its own, and will no longer have the ‘support’ of Microsoft.

At least the game will still be there for those who want to continue playing.
