Warner Bros. Montreal Reportedly Suffers Layoffs

A number of employees at Warner Bros. Montreal have revealed that the have been laid off from the company, with many of them having finished their stint at the studio on March 13, 2026.

Nothing official has been announced by Warner Bros. Montreal yet, but many ex-developers have taken to LinkedIn to say they are now looking for work. The job losses would however align with comments from Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, who stated that the deal under which Paramount outbid the streaming giant for control of Warner Bros and its games division would be “dependent on a lot of cost-cutting.”

Warner Bros. Montreal suffered layoffs back in December 2024, when 99 employees lost their jobs the same day that developer Rocksteady confirmed it was ending support for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

WB Games Montreal has a long history working on the Batman franchise, having worked on the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham City, and going on to work on Batman: Arkham Origins, DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight, and was the creator behind Gotham Knights and helped out on Suicide Squad. It is currently working on a new DC Comics title using Unreal Engine 5, with a job listing last year hinting towards it being a live service title.
