Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3’s Full Title Has Been Narrowed Down To Two Options, Confirms Naoki Hamaguchi & Tetsuya Nomura

Square Enix’s Naoki Hamaguchi and Tetsuya Nomura have revealed during a recent interview that the full title for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 has been narrowed down to two options, with the pair making their final decision by the end of the year.
Speaking during an interview that was originally conducted back in October (via Genki on X), Hamaguchi-san was quoted saying the following: “Me and Tetsuya Nomura have already narrowed it down on two, within the year we will decide on which one. Within this year it will be set.”

Speaking during a recent interview with VGC, Hamaguchi revealed that the third and final chapter in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project will not be smaller in scope that its predecessor, stressing the goal is not “about cutting content” but rather ensuring “the story developments move forward in a fairly speedy manner and with the right pace essentially, rather than feeling slow and drawn out.”
Hamaguchi also told GamesRadar+ during a recent chinwag that the team are definitely going to move onto something else after Part 3 is out, but isn’t sure what they’ll tackle next — be it a new IP or something new within the Final Fantasy franchise.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 has yet to attract a release date, but is expected to ship at some point in 2027, following a similar release scheduled to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which launched four years after FFVII Remake.
