Big Appearances Set For Stacked 8/14 Boston WWE SmackDown

WWE has added several major names to the lineup for the August 14 episode of SmackDown from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk and No. 1 contender Kevin Owens are now advertised to appear on Friday night’s show. The two are expected to collide for Punk’s championship on the August 21 edition of SmackDown in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes have also been announced for Friday’s show.

Three championship matches were previously confirmed for SmackDown. United States Champion Baron Corbin will defend against Boston-area favorite Carmelo Hayes, while WWE Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton puts her title on the line against Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne.

The WWE Tag Team Championships will also be defended in a three-way match, with Damian Priest & R-Truth facing AAA Tag Team Champions The War Raiders and the team of Tama Tonga & Talla Tonga, who will have Haku in their corner.

In addition to the televised lineup, TD Garden is advertising a notable match that is expected to take place after SmackDown goes off the air.

WWE World Tag Team Champions Bron Breakker & Austin Theory of The Vision, accompanied by Maxxine Dupri, are being advertised to face Cody Rhodes & Oba Femi.

“Cody Rhodes and Oba Femi team up to take on World Tag Team Champions The Vision w/ Maxxine Dupri this Friday at SmackDown,” the arena’s advertising reads.

The match is expected to serve as the post-show dark match main event exclusively for fans in attendance at TD Garden.
