Darby Allin Recalls Painful Blood & Guts Fire Spot Aftermath

Darby Allin says the pain from last year’s AEW Blood & Guts flaming table spot followed him well beyond the match. In a new interview alongside Steven Borden, Allin described a long drive home with his burned back kept off the car seat.

Allin and Borden discussed Wednesday’s Blood & Guts match on Going Ringside. Allin brought up his previous appearances in the stipulation while explaining what Borden had already seen firsthand.

“Blood and Guts to me is my most exciting time of the year when it comes to AEW because we’re talking live television, the most insane stuff. Last year, I got thrown through a flaming table. The year before that, I was pouring gasoline on someone’s head trying to light them on fire. And it’s just the fact that this is on live TV is incredible. There’s no rules. There’s lots of blood in it. And him coming into it, he actually, last year when I got thrown through the flaming table, he drove me home and it was about a four-hour car ride and I had my shirt off because my whole skin on my back was pretty much gone. I didn’t want it to stick to the seat. So he saw the pain I was in last year. I don’t know if that gets him excited for tomorrow.”

Borden corrected Allin’s estimate of the drive and described how Allin tried to stay comfortable in the passenger seat. Allin said he had the air conditioning on throughout the trip.

“I’d say it does. It was like a six-hour drive, Darby. Half the ride he’s leaning forward, the other half he’s like, you were on your stomach.”

“And I had the AC blasting, my dude. It hurt so bad. It hurt so bad.”

Allin and Borden are both scheduled for the November 4 Blood & Guts match. Allin’s account provides new detail about the aftermath of the 2025 fire spot, which a previous injury report described as leaving him “fine” after the show.
