Kevin Nash Recalls Gaming With Son Tristan And Xbox Failures

Kevin Nash recalled the video game nights he shared with his son Tristan, including a run of Xbox failures that brought one console experiment to an abrupt end. Speaking on Kliq This, Nash described a household that moved through PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and handheld systems as Tristan grew up.

We had them all. We had PlayStation. He wanted to play Halo, so we got the Halo edition of that system. And then we had the ring of death on three of those, like, in a row, and we said, “Fuck that.” And we also had the Nintendo GameCube.

Nash said Tristan’s interest in games started early enough that he remembers playing with him in hotel rooms when his son was still a toddler. He also recalled a purple Game Boy from before the color version became part of their collection.

No, we had Game Boy. He had black and white Game Boy before there was color Game Boy. His was purple. That kid was gaming from ’98 probably. He was born in ’96. He was gaming. I know for a fact that we were playing Spyro in the hotel rooms when he was two, two and a half.
