Nintendo announces its presence at PAX Aus 2026

It’s official – Nintendo will be at PAX Aus 2026. The Big N has announced its presence along with the lineup of games on the showroom floor.

Nintendo will host a mix of first and third-party titles at the annual conference, which this year runs from 9-11 October. Among the first-party outings is the upcoming Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, giving players a chance to try this latest entry ahead of its full release later in October.

Plenty of other new Switch 2 games will also be on show, including the recently released Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, along with the latest Pokémon Pokopia content. Staples such as Donkey Kong Bananza, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and Mario Kart World will also be present and playable.

The Switch 2 has had plenty of third-party love, and that carries over to PAX, too. Upcoming games like 007: First Light and Monster Hunter Wilds will be present and accounted for, along with recent releases such as Orbitals and Elden Ring Tarnished Edition.

According to Nintendo’s press release, this is just “some of the games” playable. Does that mean we might get a glimpse of Ocarina of Time? We’ll find out in a few short weeks when we rock up to the Melbourne Entertainment Centre and see for ourselves.

In the meantime, here’s the official list of “some of” the titles at the Nintendo booth at PAX Aus 2026:

• Nintendo Switch Sports Resort: More sports, more moves, and more fun for everyone! Return to Wuhu Island’s sporting resort and compete in some new and returning sports on the Nintendo booth stage in heated 1v1 local multiplayer, with a unique pin set given to everyone who participates. Launching 22 October exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort will be available for booth visitors to experience ahead of release.
• Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave: The end of the world is only the beginning. When the Dagdan Empire lies on the brink of ruin in the hands of a resurrected demon god, you’re tasked with guiding the unfolding stories of four heroes to change their fates and save the world. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will be available on 17 September for Nintendo Switch 2. Attendees who play the demo on the Nintendo booth will also receive a special reward.
• Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass:  During PAX Aus, players can experience new content from the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass paid DLC in Part 1: Bubbly Basin. Dive, develop and explore a new underwater town, meeting new Pokémon, decorating with stylish new furniture, and enjoying the slow life in the deep sea.
• Splatoon Raiders: Gear up for an ink-flinging treasure hunt in this single-player-focused adventure on the mysterious Spirahlite Islands. With swashbuckling musician trio Deep Cut in tow, you’ll kit yourself out with mechanical gadgets and weapons to splat, loot, raid and repeat. Just watch out for those pesky Salmonids!
• Star Fox: Fox McCloud and his wingmen are back in this remake of the Nintendo 64 game Lylat Wars. Strap in for intense aerial combat as they take the Lylat System back from Dr. Andross, one planet at a time.
• Yoshi and the Mysterious Book: When a strange book named Mr. E drops out of the sky, it’s up to Yoshi to dive into his pages and discover the worlds and creatures within. With each chapter offering a fascinating new environment to explore, Yoshi’s egg-cellent actions will unveil all the many different interactions and possibilities.
• Mario Kart World: Barrel through back-to-back courses, with no pit stops along the way! You’ll burn rubber competing with other players in a non-stop transcontinental rally, Knockout Tour, on the PAX Aus floor.
• Donkey Kong Bananza: Help DK and Pauline on their hunt for Banandium Gems as they smash their way through a vast, multilayered underground world. With Pauline’s powerful voice, unleash the power of the Bananzas to transform DK into new animal forms, while also splitting the fun in co-op.

Visitors of the booth can also enjoy the following games from Nintendo’s partners:

• Orbitals: This intergalactic 2-player co-op adventure is set in a wholly new retro anime world. Two friends team up as Maki and Omura, a pair of inseparable explorers trapped within a supernatural cosmic storm. They have to rely on smart teamwork and clear communication in order to save their home. The puzzle adventure launched on 3^rd September exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
• 007 First Light: This thrilling espionage adventure tells a new James Bond origin story. Players discover events that led a young maverick to become the best MI6 agent. The game is set to launch in March 2027.
• ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition: Rise, Tarnished, and experience the critically acclaimed fantasy action RPG on Nintendo Switch 2. The ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition includes the original 2022 Game of the Year ELDEN RING, the expansion SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE, and new classes, armour and weapons.
• Minecraft for Nintendo Switch 2: Create. Explore. Survive. This is what this dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version is all about. Players can look forward to enhanced lighting and shadow effects, with support for Vibrant Visuals. The creation of new worlds begins this year on Nintendo Switch 2.
• Minecraft Dungeons II: It’s time to drop the pickaxe, grab a sword, and charge into a thrilling new adventure. Players journey through unexplored lands and mysterious locations on a quest to stop a new evil from causing chaos in not one, but two worlds.
• Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection: Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection brings the complete Diablo IV experience to Nintendo Switch 2. Including the base game and both expansions (Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred), players can explore Sanctuary with eight classes, battle through the Age of Hatred saga, and continue their adventure with cross-play and cross-progression. Take on endless evils, forge legendary builds, and fight for Sanctuary’s future across a beautifully crafted, nightmarish world. Experience Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection on Nintendo Switch 2 at the Nintendo booth throughout the show.
• Metaphor: ReFantazio: The Tournament for the Throne begins in the next evolution of fantasy RPGs. Players team up with a compelling cast of characters and embark on an immersive journey with promising exploration, unique combat systems and more. The Tournament for the Throne begins on 12^th November.
• Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen: Your unwritten epic within a deep, explorable fantasy world begins. Releasing on Friday 9^th October, players can get their hands on Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen from launch day, experiencing unforgettable new tales and thrilling encounters in the long-abandoned region of Norgan.
• Monster Hunter Wilds: Venture into the Forbidden Lands to track and hunt massive monsters, craft gear and uncover the mysteries of an ever-changing world. The Nintendo booth offers an opportunity for attendees to experience the acclaimed hunting action game on Nintendo Switch 2, ahead of its launch on 4^th December.
• FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE: This brand new HD-2D FINAL FANTASY adventure is the first HD-2D game in the franchise, featuring the turn-based battles the franchise has been known for. The game features a strategic battle system, dramatic story and cutscenes, voiced characters, and even the ability to traverse an overworld via chocobo and airship. FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE launches for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on 22^nd October.
