Rhea Ripley Stripped Of WWE Title? & SmackDown Segment Cut
– It is believed that Chelsea Green will soon be officially upgraded from Interim Women’s Champion to Women’s Champion. The women’s wrestling veteran captured the interim title with her victory at WWE SummerSlam 2026 this past weekend in Minneapolis, MN. Ahead of tonight’s post-SummerSlam episode of WWE SmackDown from Philadelphia, PA., the lineal Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley revealed that she has undergone surgery to repair the injury that has her on the sidelines right now. One source followed up by reporting that it is expected that WWE will announce Green as the officially recognized Women’s Champion soon, possibly even on the August 7 SmackDown in Philly. – WWE Hall of Fame legends The Bella Twins revealed during a recent ‘Nikki & Brie Show’ episode that their video package promo got cut from the WWE SummerSlam 2026 “go-home” episode of WWE SmackDown on July 31. They were told it was posted to WWE’s social media channels as a result, however it never was.
– Nick Aldis and Chad Gable are featured in new WWE SummerSlam Weekend Vlogs released via WWE’s official YouTube channel this week.
– Also new from SummerSlam Weekend in Minneapolis, MN. are WWE Now interviews with Sam Roberts talking to newly crowned WWE Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable and newly crowned Interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green.
– WWE has also released two new installments of their digital series, ‘WWE Playlist.’ In one released on August 7, fans get a look at ‘Freakish Oba Femi Moments.’ The other new episode looks at ‘Roman Reigns’ Post-Shield Moments.’
– Finally, WWE continues to churn out digital content with the cast of the new ‘Super Troopers 3’ movie, which hits theaters on August 7, 2026. In the latest offering, the Super Troopers gang patrols the backstage area at WWE Raw this past Monday night. Also featured in the digital exclusive segment are Danhausen, Je’Von Evans and others.
