Turkish mobile games studioΒ Good Job Games has closed a $23 million seed round to build a “legacy entertainment company”.
The developer has worked on titles including Zen Match, laterΒ bought along with its associated team by Moon Active, Wonder Blast and Match Villains.
Good Job Games has already grown its team to more than 100 developers, designers and artists, while its portfolio has achieved over three billion downloads. The company now hopes to scale its games and grow its player base.
The investment was led by Menlo Ventures and Arcadia Gaming Partnersβ fund. The final figure for this round has come out $8m higher than the previously reported $15m – revealed before Arcadiaβs involvement was confirmed publicly.
The deal marks Arcadiaβs first investment after it was quietly established in December 2024 by solo GP and Tripledot Studios co-founder Akin Babayigit.
It’s also the first external investment Good Job Games has received since it was founded in 2017.
A helping hand
“We are proud to have grown Good Job Games with no external investment thanks to our passionate and extraordinary team,” said Good Job Games founder and CEO Ilker Ilicali.
“Our success has always been powered by our teamβs creativity, dedication and craftsmanship to deliver exceptional games. We now also have great partners in Menlo Ventures and Arcadia supporting our next phase to scale our games and grow our player base.
“Our goal is to build a legacy entertainment company – one that creates genre-defining games with global appeal.”
Menlo Ventures partner Amy Wu commented: “At Menlo, we invest in gaming craftsmanship – and after playing over 1,000 levels of Match Villains, I can confidently say itβs the best match-3 game on the market.”
Babayigit added: “Good Job Games has stormed the match-3 category with Match Villains, which has incredible long term retention metrics that are rarely seen. They are the real deal and will prove to have staying power. Beyond this, Ilker and Nazim are truly generational entrepreneurs and incredible human beings, so partnering with them for the future was an absolute no-brainer.”
