‘Hunt: Showdown 1896’ Unveiled As Support For Xbox One Ends Next Month

After first announcing the switch late last year, developer Crytek has finalized its plans for Hunt: Showdown to move to current-gen-only platforms this year. Soon to be titled Hunt: Showdown 1896, the popular PvPvE shooter will ditch Xbox One support on August 15th – while taking up its new name on Xbox Series X and S.

Alongside that new name, we also have a brand-new map, which you can catch in action up above. Mammon’s Gulch “brings Hunters into the shadow of the mighty Colorado mountains” as the game moves onto Cry Engine 5.11.

“Once a verdant landscape of green forests and rocky crags, Mammon’s Gulch now mimics its inhabitants, fetid and rotten, soon to be the latest stage of bloodshed and battle.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 will be launching to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 15th August, 2024.”

This engine upgrade has proved too much for the aging Xbox One then, and any last-gen players will have to upgrade hardware to continue enjoying Hunt: Showdown. The good news is that the game itself will be a completely free upgrade on Xbox, so, at least new Series X and S players won’t have to fork out for a new version of the game!
