The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered Is Europe’s Best-Selling New Game For Jan. 2024
The latest GSD data has revealed that Naughty Dog‘s The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered was the best-selling new title for January 2024, although overall EA Sports FC 24 was the biggest game for that month.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered performed strongly for Sony, with its opening two weeks two-and-a-half times as big as that of its predecessor, The Last of Us Part 1, back in September 2022. It should be noted that owners of the PS4 version could upgrade for £10 and PS5 is widely available now compared to Part 1’s release.
In terms of other new releases, Tekken 8 made its debut at number seven on the charts, surpassing Street Fighter 6’s debut sales by 80%. Bandai Namco Games’ flagship fighting series typically has a stronger following in Europe than Street Fighter, and is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is more than just a PS5 glow-up of the seminal post-apocalyptic sequel. The game features a ton of new content, including the new Lost Levels (playable versions of stages that were scrapped from the final game) as well as the new No Return mode.
