Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Director Is Confident The Game ‘Will Be Loved By Everyone’
Naoki Hamaguchi, director on the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 and who previously helmed the first two parts of the trilogy, has said he’s hopeful the epic conclusion to the trilogy will be ‘loved by everyone.’ This includes fans of the original 1997 classic to those who came on board with Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Speaking at Brazil Game Show 2025, Hamaguchi-san touched on the fact the remake project was split into three projects, stating they fans would not have been willing to accept a lot of content getting cut to allow Square Enix to cram everything into a single game. He then turned his attention to concluding the trilogy, and is confident that it will be enjoyed by fans new and old.

Final Fantasy 7 is a game with a truly huge fanbase. We could have cut some parts and turned it into one game, but the fans of the original would never have forgiven us. If we want to tell this story using new technology, it’s not possible to do so in a single title. That’s why we made the difficult decision to split it into three parts.
Of course, I already have a clear idea of the ending for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3. I think this conclusion will appeal to both those who loved the original and those who became fans of Final Fantasy 7 thanks to the Remake series. I’m confident this new game will be loved by everyone.
Hamaguchi previously commented that the multiform approach to the concluding chapter in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project won’t impact its development ‘whatsoever.’ Speaking in a separate interview, he also revealed that development on Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is ‘shaping up nicely,’ while stating that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is ‘doing very well on PS5 and PC‘ in wake of reports the game had underperformed commercially.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 hasn’t attracted a concrete release date yet, but it is believed to be targeting a 2027 window.
