Gothic Classic Trilogy Coming To PS5 & PS4 This Year Beginning With Gothic Classic On July 28
Gothic Classic, Gothic II Complete Classic, and Gothic 3 Classic – otherwise known as the Gothic Classic Trilogy – are coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One starting in July 2025, THQ Nordic has announced.
First out the door is Gothic Classic on July 28, 2026, which will be available for $29.99, although if you preorder Gothic Remake you can now play this version of the game as a bonus at no extra cost. Gothic II Classic and Gothic 3 Classic will follow on September 29 and November 24, respectively, both priced at $29.99. Both the original Gothic and its sequel are already available on Nintendo Switch.
Gothic Classic features a classic RPG experience offering over 50 hours of gameplay, with players immersing themselves in a living world where characters go about their business, such as working, eating, sleeping and fighting to survive. You play an unknown prisoner who arrives in a mine controlled by violent prisoners, who is destined to change everything amidst the warring factions.
Gothic II Classic continues the Nameless Hero’s story after they have liberated the prisoners of the Mine Valley, with trouble arising in the capital of Khorinis as the ex-criminals of the forests and mountains unleash havoc. This sequel adds 100 missions across numerous environments, with players able to interact with over 500 unique NPCs, each having their own unique dialogue and daily routine. You’ll shape the narrative with key choices and battle against enemies in dynamic combat using over 200 different weapons and magical spells.
Finally, Gothic 3 Classic sees the Nameless Hero becoming a legend, as the world is chaos after orcs hailing from the dark North have overrun the land. Vangard, a former stronghold of humans, is being defended by King Rhobar, with word spreading that the Nameless Hero is on their way — but what side will he take? The fate of the Gothic world lies in your hands through either annihilation or liberation. Gothic 3 Classic adds a free roaming world with no boundaries, action-packed combat, 50 different creatures and animals, and advanced human behaviour AI for hundreds of NPCs.
