Build A Rocket Boy CEO Reportedly States MindsEye Will Be Relaunched

Leslie Benzies, the CEO of MindsEye developer Build A Rocket Boy, has indicated that the trouble game will be relaunched at some point, with employees claiming that Benzies has again blamed the game’s struggles on ‘external saboteurs.’

According to statements obtained by IGN, Benzies address Build A Rocket Boy staff following MIndsEye’s troubled launch, where he mentioned about relaunching the game.

BARB sources told IGN that Benzies finally addressed staff following the release of MindsEye in a brief video call yesterday, July 2. According to two people present who asked not to be named in order to protect their careers, Benzies insisted BARB would bounce back and relaunch MindsEye, blaming the studio and the game’s struggles on internal and external saboteurs, among other things.

Last week, Build A Rocket Boy revealed that it had started a ‘consolation process‘ that may result in job losses after it was reported that up to 100 people could be laid off.

MindsEye launched on June 10 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, but was plagued with various technical issues and subsequently received poor reviews. Build A Rocket Boy was quick to respond to the issues, saying it was ‘working around the clock‘ to improve the game’s performance, and later said it was ‘heartbroken‘ to see so many players experience the issues.
