Participants accepted into the program will receive full access to Udemy’s Game Development Courses and the Game Development Career Accelerator.
The campaign also provides a structured learning path covering industry fundamentals from game design, programming with tools like Unity and languages such as C#, and digital art creation.
To join, applicants must be at least 16 years old and reside in an African country. Applications are open from June 26th to July 11th, 2025, via the official portal. Selected participants will receive onboarding materials by email.
“Breaking down barriers”
The initiative aims to equip the continent’s emerging talent with practical skills to succeed in the rapidly growing global games industry.
“So many people I know started their journey into the games industry through online courses – scraping together knowledge from YouTube tutorials, bootcamps, or free trials,” said Carry1st growth lead and advocate for African game talent Dominion Ero.
“This campaign is about exposing people to the power of guided learning with Udemy and breaking down barriers. It’s a message to African youth: you belong in this industry, and we’re going to help you get there.”
Udemy chief marketing officer Genefa Murphy commented: “This initiative is a powerful opportunity to demonstrate Udemy’s enduring mission and vision: to transform lives through learning and create a world where everyone, everywhere, has access to the skills they need to unlock their potential.
“By supporting aspiring developers across Africa, we’re not just investing in individual futures, we’re reinforcing our belief that knowledge has the power to elevate communities, unlock creativity, and drive innovation on a global scale.”
