Jade Raymond Has Departed Haven Studios

Bloomberg has reported that Haven Studios founder Jade Raymond has left the company while production continues on its online shooter, Fairgame.

The reason for Rayomnd’s departure wasn’t given, but the report claims that an external test of Fairgames left a number of developers concerned about its reception. A PlayStation spokesperson issued the following statement to Bloomberg regarding Raymond’s departure:

Jade Raymond has been an incredible partner and visionary force in founding Haven Studios. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and contributions, and we wish her all the best in her next chapter.

The spokesperson added PlayStation is “committed to supporting Haven Studios and excited to continue the journey,” which suggests that Fairgames is continuing its development cycle.

Haven Studios was acquired by PlayStation Studios back in March 2022, and at the time Sony executive Hermen Hulst had the following to say:

We began working with Jade and her team in early 2021 when they were on the brink of announcing the formation of Haven Studios. From their first pitch, we were inspired by Haven’s vision for creating a modern multiplayer experience that brings gamers together in positive and meaningful ways.

Fairgames remains one of the last few live service titles that Sony has up its sleeves following the departure of Jim Ryan. Haven Studios was co-founded by Sebastien Puel, who announced in February 2022 that he was departing the studio.
