The Backrooms 1998, A Found-Footage Survival Horror Game Is Coming To PS5 And PS4

The Backrooms 1998 is a found-footage survival horror game that originally launched on Steam in Early Access back in May 2022, and has remained in Early Access since.

But it seems like it’ll be out of Early Access soon, because developer Steelkrill Studio and publisher Feardemic announced in a new trailer that when the game launches its 1.0 version, it’ll arrive on PS5 and PS4 and other console platforms alongside the PC release.

The Backrooms 1998 puts players in the shoes of the most unfortunate teenager ever, as they get trapped in “The Backrooms” in 1998.

You’ll then have to explore these backrooms, marking where you’ve been so you don’t get lost, keeping a watch on your stamina, stocking up on any resources you can find and uncovering the story along the way, in the hopes of getting out alive.

Hopefully we’ll have a proper release date to look forward to soon, but for now PS5 and PS4 players can know that they’ll be able to dive into The Backrooms 1998 the same day as PC players.
