New Battlefield Game Concept Art Possibly Used Real-Life Images Of Gaza Explosion

Concept art for the new Battlefield game may have featured real-life images of an attack on Gaza.

Electronic Arts shared the concept art back in September 2024 and simply depicts the logo for the franchise and an image of a city coming under attack. While nothing was made of this at the time, Emad Alden, a freelance concept artist, has posted on X that he has seen similarities with the explosion in the image with that of one taken during an attack on Gaza.

X user DANNYonPC then located the real-life image that was taken on May 12, 2021 depicting an explosion in Gaza originally shown on Reuters, which was later verified by TheGamer. Alden offered, “Sometimes concept artists need to finish images fast so most likely they just looked for an explosion with the correct perspective.”

EA and Battlefield developer DICE have to comment on the situation, although there’s every chance that the concept artist was not aware of the source of the explosion while they were designing the image.

The new Battlefield game hasn’t been fully unveiled yet, but it is currently in development at numerous EA studios around the globe. However, an Insider-Gaming report from last September revealed that the game will take place between 2027 – 2030, and features 45 different weapons for launch and 10 multiplayer maps.
