God Of War’s Christopher Judge Takes Swipe At Amazon CEO’s ‘No Acting In Video Games’ Comment
Christopher Judge, the award-winning actor behind Kratos in God of War and God of War Ragnarok, has hit back at recent comments from Amazon Games CEO Christophe Hartmann, who suggested that ‘we don’t really have acting’ in video games when defending the use of AI.
Writing on X, Judge reacted to a clip of The Last of Us Part 2’s motion capture sessions featuring Ashley Johnson (anyone who has played the game will no doubt recognise what scene this is from). He simply wrote, “Thank goodness there’s really no acting in video games… Absolutely brilliant.”

Judge’s performance in the God of War games have been highly praised by critics and gamers alike, and he scooped the Best Performer award at the Game Awards 2022 for his work. In addition, Judge was awarded the gong for Performer In A Leading Role at the BAFTA Awards back in March 2023, during which time he called for an end to the console wars.
