PS5 UK Sales For September Jumped 24% Over Previous Month, EA Sports FC 24 Tops Software Chart
Sony’s PS5 saw an increase of 24% in sales for September 2023 over the previous month, according to the latest GfK data. The news comes following a strong performance for the console in Europe, with sales up a massive 175% in the region.
Beyond the PS5 itself, the DualSense controller also maintained first place as the UK’s best-selling accessory for the month, although the Xbox Wireless Controller and its various colours also performed well during the same period. Overall, sales of video game consoles during September in the UK jumped 44% compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, over on the software front, EA Sports FC 24 comfortably ruled the roost, with sales dipping only 8% on last year’s FIFA 23. Second place went to Xbox console exclusive Starfield, and this was followed by NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 1.
Looking ahead, Sony will launch a new design for the PS5 in the shape of a slimmer, lighter variant for the standard and digital versions. While the console maker hasn’t announced an official release date yet, a reliable tipster has claimed it will release on November 10.
The PS5 Slim will still support expandable storage for owners, and the digital version of the system will allow you to attach a disc drive (sold separately).
