“99.9% Chance” WWE Signs Brock Rechsteiner
Brock Rechsteiner could eventually be following in his family’s footsteps with a run in WWE.
Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner and cousin of current WWE Superstar Bron Breakker, recently signed with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent. The wide receiver is listed at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, though he has since been suspended for the first six games of the season.
Despite the suspension, WWE reportedly remains extremely interested in Rechsteiner whenever his football career comes to an end. One higher-up within the company reportedly put the chances of him eventually receiving a WWE offer at “99.9 percent.”
WWE is said to have kept tabs on Rechsteiner throughout his college football career and has heard positive things about him along the way. His recent NFL suspension is also not expected to have any impact on the company’s interest.
Rechsteiner reportedly would not be expected to go through the traditional WWE tryout process, with the belief being that the company would instead look to sign him outright when the time comes.
For his part, Rechsteiner has communicated his interest in eventually pursuing a WWE career, though he currently intends to see how far he can take his run in the NFL before making the transition to professional wrestling.
