Gears Of War: E-Day Is Bringing Back Legacy Maps, Modes And Skins For Season 2
The Coalition kicked off Gears’ 20th anniversary celebrations by reviving a classic Versus mode, introducing a new Horde mission, and adding a few extra bits and bobs to Gears of War: E-Day.
It might not have seemed like much, but reintroducing Guardian to Versus was an excellent callback to the mode’s debut in Gears of War 2. The game’s first season is coming to a close at the end of November, making way for E-Day’s Season 2 content: Legacy.
Tomorrow, E-Day players can claim a free General RAAM skin for multiplayer. All you have to do is log in – that’s it. Season 2 begins on December 1st, promising to bring back fan-favourite maps, modes and skins to “honour the greatest hits of Gears over 20 years”.
“And beginning December 1, we launch our next Season – titled Legacy – which continues to honor the greatest hits of Gears over 20 years in our maps, modes and multiplayer skins. Season 2 not only brings back some fan favorites from the history of the franchise but lets us reimagine characters in ways we’ve always wanted to see them – like Solemn Memories Dom, whose character skin depicts him in the suit he’s wearing in the famous photo of him and Maria from Gears of War 2.“
Does this mean we’re going to see Kalona’s version of Gridlock, Blood Drive and Canals? I sure hope so! I’d also like to reunite the Carmine family in E-Day. Can you imagine a full squad of Carmines voiced by the one and only Michael Gough? I can, and I want it!
