Kyoki Makes WWE In-Ring Debut Before 8/24 Raw In Ottawa
Former NJPW star Hiromu Takahashi has officially competed in his first match under the WWE banner.
Ahead of Monday night’s WWE Raw and SmackDown double taping in Ottawa, Ontario, Takahashi — now working under the ring name Kyoki — stepped into the ring for a dark match against Kit Wilson.
Kyoki picked up the victory in what marked his WWE in-ring debut.
The former NJPW standout first appeared for WWE on the August 21 episode of SmackDown in Toronto, where he was introduced as the new tag team partner of Shinsuke Nakamura.
Nakamura has recently found himself at odds with MFT members Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, with the arrival of Kyoki giving him some backup in the ongoing storyline.
Monday’s bout was also Kyoki’s first match in more than six months. He last wrestled on February 11 before wrapping up his lengthy run with NJPW, where he became one of the promotion’s most decorated junior heavyweights.
