AEW Collision Results 8/22/26

It’s Saturday, and you know what that means …

All Elite Wrestling is back tonight from Reading, PA., for the August 22, 2026 episode of AEW Collision at 8/7c on TNT and HBO Max.

Tony Schiavone and Ian Riccaboni opened the show, pitching to a recap video of Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega’s promo and confrontation on AEW Dynamite, ending with Omega putting Ospreay through a table with the One Winged Angel.

Orange Cassidy vs. Kyle O’Reilly in a Continental Classic Cup Quarter Final Match

O’Reilly offered a fist bump at the start of the match to his friend, but Orange Cassidy put his sunglasses on KOR instead. O’Reilly and Cassidy then began a mat based exchange for the first few minutes of the match, with Cassidy and O’Reilly countered each other, including O’Reilly dodging a a leapfrog and Cassidy dodging an arm drag. These technical exchanges were fun and an example that Orange Cassidy can keep up with any style of work out there, as this is not quite usual for him. Cassidy had a funny spot shimmying out of a waistlock, then hit an arm drag with his hands in his pockets again.

O’Reilly and Cassidy exchanged a few little comedy spots here and there too that helped us remember these guys are friends, but interjected with big moves like O’Reilly hitting a dragon screw in the ropes. After a series of reversals, O’Reilly and Cassidy started exchanging snap suplexes, getting a pop from the crowd for each suplex. This went back and forth for over a minute. Both men rolled to the floor and kept trying to suplex each other, but kept reversing and rolled back into the ring at 9 and then resumed suplexing each other in the ring. If you were on TNT you saw them exchange suplexes and then as you came back from the break, they are continuing the suplexes.

Both men collapsed to opposite corners after the next set of suplexes. They fist bumped and then started exchanging strikes. Cassidy hit two superkicks, and O’Reilly rebounded with the lariat from the ropes to drop Cassidy. O’Reilly hit a hard kick, Cassidy got up, and then O’Reilly hit flying knee. Cassidy went for the Stundog Millionaire, but O’Reilly immediately countered into an arm bar, and Cassidy fought out, only for O’Reilly to try the ankle lock, but Cassidy escaped that too. O’Reilly went for a Guillotine choke, but Cassidy hit a Michinoku Driver and a tornado DDT for a 2-count.

O’Reilly hit an STO and went for sunset flip, but Cassidy rolled back and hit a PK. Cassidy went for Beach Break, but O’Reilly grabbed the ankle and locked on the ankle lock. O’Reilly had a chance to stomp on the ankle, but refused. Cassidy rolled him up, but O’Reilly immediately countered into the ankle lock again, and he scissored the legs leading to Cassidy immediately tapping out.

Result: Kyle O’Reilly defeated Orange Cassidy

–Nigel McGuinness was with Renee Paquette talking about his win against Hechicero as Will Ospreay came in looking for ice for his back. Ospreay talked about how McGuinness was one of his favourites of all time, and that he had faith McGuinness could win the C3. Ospreay said that he had more confidence in McGuinness than himself, and McGuinness said that was the problem. He said that Ospreay has a chance to do something that all the kids watching before him and after him dream of doing – winning the world title in England, and that he needed to go into Wembley and win the title.

Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne & Lena Cross) vs. Erica Leigh & Tiara James in a 5-minute Elimination Challenge

This was a one sided destruction, opening with Bayne hitting a German suplex on both women at the same time. They mocked Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor, and hit Two Birds, One Stone before hitting the Divine Intervention for the win.

Result: Divine Dominion defeated Leigh & James

–A video aired of Jack Perry’s promo and confrontation with Swerve Strickland after his loss to Jon Moxley, and they announced Strickland vs. Perry for the next AEW Dynamite.

–A recap video aired of Kevin Knight and Darby Allin, with Allin being taken out by pyro and Steven Borden coming to his aid, but Allin is still set for the match against Knight.

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Daniel Garcia in a Continental Classic Cup Quarter Final Match

Garcia cut a nice little inset promo on Castagnoli during the entrances, but looked nervous as the match started. Castagnoli took Garcia down with some powerful wrestling, and Garcia tried to counter into submissions, but Castagnoli powered out and forced Garcia to the apron. Garcia came back in and hit two roll ups, but Castagnoli lifted Garcia up by his head when Garcia went for a sunset flip and hit a hard forearm. Garcia smiled and seemed to shake the nerves, hitting a European uppercut, and then hitting some hard forearms on a seated Castagnoli at ringside.

Garcia went to the other side but was far too casual, as Castagnoli came flying into the camera shot with a brutal European uppercut and then dumped Castagnoli into the front row. Castagnoli dragged Garcia back over, hit some chops, and started beating on Garcia with strikes in the corner. Garcia powered up with his dance, but Castagnoli beat on him with strikes. Garcia refused to give in though, and was soon going for submissions on Castagnoli, including trying the Dragon Tamer, but Castagnoli pulled him into a headlock as he leaned back. Garcia countered this into a sleeper and almost choked Castagnoli out, but Castagnoli managed to counter it into a giant swing. However, because of the choke, Castagnoli was dizzy, allowing Garcia to hit a busaiku knee.

Garcia went for the Neutralizer, but Castagnoli powered out and attacked the knee and ankle of Garcia that he hurt on ROH. Garcia went back to the sleeper, and finally managed to hit Castagnoli’s Neutralizer for a 2-count as he almost choked out Castagnoli. Castagnoli was not down and out, though, managing to lock on a sharpshooter. Garcia slapped Castagnoli, and Castagnoli tore off Garcia’s boot to attack the ankle and did a giant swing on the bad ankle alone before hitting a huge European uppercut for a 2-count.

Castagnoli responded to a slap with a brutal European uppercut, double stomp, a deadlift powerbomb, and a sharpshooter with a twist on the injured ankle to finally get the submission.

Result: Claudio Castagnoli defeated Daniel Garcia

–A hype video for Mercedes Mone and Willow Nightingale aired, showing their pull apart brawl.

–Tony Schiavone and Ian Riccaboni announced the next two matches in the C3 – Kyle O’Reilly vs. Nigel McGuinness and Jon Moxley vs. Claudio Castagnoli. That is going to rule.

–A hype video aired for The Dogs, and Gabe Kidd was back, saying that he was tired of seeing Finlay and Connors struggle, and that they were going to answer the open challenge for “their” trios titles.

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) & Lee Moriarty (w/ MVP and Shane Taylor Promotions) vs. Ryan O’Neill, Nic Nolan, & Matt Mako

Benjamin suplexed O’Neill right away, and then tagged in Lashley, snubbing Moriarty. Lashley and Benjamin proceeded to murder the enhancement talent, including Lashely hitting a giant spear on Mako on the floor to a huge pop. Lashley tagged in Moriarty with a slap, and then the Hurt Syndicate left, saying they did what they were paid for, leaving Moriarty to lock on a Border City Stretch on Mako.

–Shane Taylor grabbed a mic and said that greatness looks like Lee Moriarty being the ROH Pure Wrestling champion for nearly two years, and they were going to show that they are the greatest trio in AEW, offering an open challenge. Jay White and the Bang Bang Gang answered.

Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, Carlie Bravo, & Shawn Dean) vs. The Bang Bang Gang (Jay White, Colten Gunn, & Austin Gunn)

White started the match with Carlie Bravo, chopping him and tagging out to Colten Gunn. Bravo shoved Gunn back to the corner and STP triple teamed him, and Bravo tagged out to Dean, hitting a series of double team moves, ending with a neckbreaker from Dean. Austin Gunn tagged in and hit the ropes again so fast that the camera seemed to almost missed him, but he was laid out by Shane Taylor. As they came back from the break, Bravo tagged back and hit a double team move on on Austin Gunn before tagging out to Shane Taylor, who crushed him in the corner.

There was a very lewd reference by Shawn Dean, and Carlie Bravo sang a very lewd song after the bronco buster. Colten Gunn tagged in after Austin Gunn dodged an attack, hitting a dropkick on Dean, but then eating a massive shoulder tackle from Shane Taylor. Taylor missed a corner charge and tagged out to Jay White who immediately started hitting chops and strikes. Taylor dropped White and went for a Vader Bomb, but White rolled out of the way. White hit a dragon screw on Dean, but Bravo dropped him with a forearm. The Gunns took him out, dodged a corner charge from Taylor, and then hit 310 to Yuma on Shane Taylor. White came in and hit a blade runner on Carlie Bravo for the pinfall victory.

Result: The Bang Bang Gang defeated Shane Taylor Promotions

–White cut a promo after the match talking about how he lost to Jon Moxley, but while one door choked him out, another opened. He noted how Gabe Kidd has returned with The Dogs, and how Brodido and Hangman helped them, but they didn’t need them. White noted that he and the Gunns never lost the Trios title, and that they were going to knock every trios team down, from Swerve and his partners, Hangman & Brodido, The Demand, or the Dogs, and they wanted their gold back. Good promo from White.

–Kyle O’Reilly was backstage with The Conglomeration and Lexy Nair, talking about how this tournament was testing him, facing two of his best friends, but that he was now going to go and make sure that he won the tournament. Willow Nightingale talked about how she was facing a friend tonight in Maya World, and that while she loved and respected her, nothing would stop her from defending her title and then finishing off Mercedes Mone at Wembley. Another good promo segment here.

–A fantastic hype video aired for Ospreay and Omega, including highlighting how the Don Callis Family got involved, with Omega cheating to beat Moxley for the title, and then Callis betraying him, and Ospreay joining the family. This complex, intertwined story with Omega, Ospreay, the Don Callis Family, and the Death Riders, was fantastic, taking several years of stories and feuds and explaining how Ospreay and Omega’s relationship was complicated. Ian Riccaboni was a great voice to narrate this video.

Nick Wayne & Tommaso Ciampa vs. Mike Bailey & Komander

Mike Bailey and Ciampa started the match, but as soon as Ciampa ate some kicks from Bailey he tagged out to his partner. Wayne baited Bailey into tagging out Komander, but as he went for it, Wayne attacked him from behind. Bailey, however, hit a kick and then tagged out to Komander. Komander and Bailey hit stereo hurricanranas sending their opponents to the floor. This was followed with stereo tope suicidas. Bailey picked up Ciampa and Wayne, setting them up for a dive off the top rope from Komander, but Wayne fought out and shoved Komander to the floor while Ciampa took out Bailey.

When they came back from break Komander and Wayne were exchanging some moves before Komander tagged out to Bailey, who hit a stiff kick on Wayne and then kicked Ciampa from the apron. Bailey hit a standing shooting star press on Wayne for a 2-count. There was a series of moves from Bailey, including a moonsault into double knees on Ciampa and a triangle moonsault to the floor on Ciampa as well. Komander hit a springboard Canadian Destroyer on Wayne for a 2-count. Komander almost got his mask stolen by Ciampa, but Bailey saved him. However, this let Ciampa to isolate Bailey allowing Wayne to hit the Protoplex on Komander for the pinfall victory.

Result: Nick Wayne & Tommaso Ciampa defeated Mikey Bailey & Komander

–A hype video aired for Kyle Fletcher vs. Kazuchika Okada vs. Konosuke Takeshita, and how Okada was making it clear that if he won, he expected Fletcher to be happy for him, as the title stayed in the Don Callis Family.

–The Death Riders were backstage and Wheeler Yuta talked about how it sucked that Castagnoli and Moxley drew each other. Mox stood up, told him to shut up, and walked away. Castagnoli stood up and said, “Sucks for who?” Yuta set down and asked Garcia how his ankle was, and Garcia said, “It sucks.” Riccaboni noted as they went back to the arena that the last time Castagnoli and Mox wrestled, Castagnoli won, so this match definitely didn’t suck for him.

Willow Nightingale vs. Maya World for the AEW World Women’s Championship
Maya World had an inset promo talking about how she couldn’t sleep, knowing that this was the biggest opportunity of her life, especially if she wins she would hold both the World and TBS title, and go on to face Mercedes Mone, who she also has a history with. The match started with some basic exchanges with Nightingale over powering World with a few shoulder tackles. Nightingale rolled over a drop down and posed, but then World did the same. World hit a hurricanrana and sent Nightingale to the floor before hitting a crossbody off the apron. World went for a move off the middle rope, but Nightingale dodged and hit a pounce as they went to the ad break on TNT.

As they came back from the break, there was a good exchange, including Maya World hitting a fallaway slam with a bridge for a very close near fall. Nightingale gave her a lot before beating her with a roll up.

Result: Willow Nightingale defeated Maya World to retain the AEW World Women’s Championship
