Will Ospreay Was “Genuinely Scared” He’d Return At 50%

Will Ospreay has opened up about the fears he dealt with while recovering from neck surgery.

Ospreay underwent neck surgery in late 2025, forcing him to spend several months on the sidelines before eventually returning to the ring at AEW Revolution.

During the latest episode of his Rebuild And Destroy vlog series (see video below), Ospreay reflected on his recovery and admitted there was a point where he feared he wouldn’t be able to perform at even half the level he had prior to surgery.

“I am genuinely scared of coming back and being even 50% of what I once was. As long as at the end of it I’m still a decent dad, a decent lover, and just a decent human being, that’s the main things. But the thing that gets me up and the thing that makes me happy to be alive and happy to do what I’m doing is knowing that I can wrestle again.”

Elsewhere in the vlog, Ospreay introduced his two dogs, Hagrid and Norbert, to the AEW cameras. He joked that regardless of how many times he gets to perform in front of a packed Wembley Stadium, his responsibilities at home remain the same.

“This is Hagrid, and this is Norbert. It’s funny, this one’s, like, there’s a bit, like, he’s got a bit of social anxiety, so he needs to be around people constantly. Like, no matter what, I could perform in front of Wembley night after night after night, I’ve still got to pick up dog sh*t (laughs).”
