New Title Match Announced For WWE NXT Heatwave 2026

Kelani Jordan is officially getting her opportunity at NXT gold.

During the August 11 episode of WWE NXT on The CW Network, Kali Armstrong came to the ring and made her case for a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship.

Armstrong was interrupted by Jordan, who has also been pursuing a championship opportunity. The two traded words before NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey and WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair joined them in the ring.

Grey said she was tired of hearing Jordan complain about not receiving a title shot and revealed that she had gone to NXT General Manager Robert Stone to get Jordan the opportunity she wanted.

The champion then allowed Jordan to choose when the match would take place, with Jordan selecting WWE NXT Heatwave on August 30.

Things quickly turned physical afterward, as Armstrong struck Grey in the face to spark a brawl between the four women.

As a result, Kendal Grey will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Kelani Jordan at WWE NXT Heatwave on August 30.
