Eek, GTA 6’s ‘Physical Edition’ Is A Download Code In A Box
Grand Theft Auto VI feels like the most anticipated game in the history of games (well, for as long as I’ve been alive, anyway) so it’s understandable if fans are foaming at the mouth to get their hands on the game.
The only problem is, there isn’t actually a disc to get your hands on.
In an article on Business Wire, we now finally understand GTA 6 will cost $79.99, but more interesting, if you’re looking to purchase the physical version of Grand Theft Auto VI, boxes will ship featuring ‘a download code’:
“The physical version of Grand Theft Auto VI, containing a download code inside the box, will be available starting November 12, 2026 to support pre-loading.”
Pre-loads begin on November 12, with code-in-a-box ‘physical editions’ also shipping on that date, a full week ahead of GTA 6’s November 19th release.
It’s a poor show from Rockstar Games if you ask me, and a sad day for collectors of the physical medium.
