Forza Horizon 6 Seemingly Sold Almost 5 Million Copies Before Its Opening Weekend

Even before its main Xbox Game Pass release, it feels like we spoke a lot about Forza Horizon 6’s success – notably some impressive early access numbers, high review scores and lots of people hopping on the Steam version at once. In addition to all of this though, some early data from the folks over at Alinea Analytics shows incredibly encouraging sales figures for the new Xbox racer – and that’s before this opening weekend that’s just gone.
According to the analytics firm, Forza Horizon 6 sold 4.9 million copies across Xbox and Steam by Friday, May 22nd. That includes the game’s four-day early access period and roughly three days of the main standard edition release – and we don’t know about you folks, but almost five million sales before the game’s full opening weekend looks incredibly impressive to us (a large chunk of those sales will have been at the $120 early access price too).
In the image above, you can also see that over 3 million players have seemingly access the title via Xbox Game Pass too, bumping up the overall player count even higher. The firm says that the revenue split for full game sales between Xbox and Steam is roughly 50-50 (51% on Xbox, 49% on Steam).
Of course, these figures are coming from a third-party data firm and shouldn’t be taken as 100% accurate, but when you look at some of the official figures as well, it’s all pretty believable. Playground Games itself announced 6 million players in total on Thursday, May 21st, and SteamDB shows another PC player count record was set over the weekend too – at more than 300,000 players. Let’s see how Forza Horizon 6 performs in week two, folks!
