Discord has launched a new global virtual currency system called Orbs to reward users for completing in-app Quests.
Orbs can be redeemed in the Shop for rewards like decorations, improved streaming features, and limited-time access to Discord Nitro.
For advertisers Discord said the system simplifies campaign launches by removing the need to supply their own rewards or tailor them to specific audiences.
The company has also partnered with brand measurement company Kantar to help advertisers measure the effectiveness of their Quests campaigns as it plans to expand its Play Quest format to more brands.
“Digital living room”
Discord said it will introduce more ways for users to redeem Orbs and will offer Nitro subscribers exclusive deals across its ecosystem.
