Xbox 360 Dashboard Gets Significant Update For First Time In Ages

Well, well, well! When the Xbox 360 marketplace was closed down back in July of 2024, we highlighted how bare the dashboard looked without any advertising whatsoever – it was literally just six titles amidst a very dull-looking UI.

It seems Microsoft didn’t want to leave it that way though, as multiple Xbox 360 owners have discovered this week that a new dashboard has begun rolling out. It’s still the same style as the old one, but with a few quality-of-life changes.

Firstly, here’s what the Xbox 360 dashboard looked like before the update:

And now, here’s what it looks like after the update:

As you can see, they’ve done a lot of good stuff here. Perhaps the most important thing is that the titles have been resized to an appropriate width for both functionality and game art, while the advertising makes total sense as well.

The catch is that not everyone is able to get this new Xbox 360 dashboard just yet, as it’s only showing for certain people when they turn on their console. Hopefully it’ll extend to the masses though, and we’re presuming it’ll remain along these lines until the day they shut the Xbox 360 servers off – which hopefully is many, many years away.

Perhaps the reason for this Xbox 360 dashboard update is because Xbox is celebrating 20 years of the console in 2025, with that anniversary specifically falling on November 22nd. Let’s hope for more treats like these to come!
