Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders – are they live yet?
Nintendo’s next console is finally on the way, and Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are now live. Almost eight years since the arrival of the original console, all eyes are on the upcoming handheld to deliver some new experiences, including the new Mario Kart World game and the first Donkey Kong 3D platformer in 25 years.
The Nintendo Switch 2 release date has been revealed, with the console finally launching in June 2025. After a packed set of announcements with the Nintendo Direct on April 2, the future of the upcoming handheld console looks bright. So, here’s how you can get your hands on a Nintendo Switch 2.
Where to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2?
Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders went live on Tuesday, April 8, in the UK and Thursday, April 24, in the US. At the time of writing, multiple retailers are already sold out, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t still looking for any pre-order deals that are still available.
If you didn’t manage to secure a Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order, we recommend keeping an eye on the retailers below to see if any more stock becomes available.
US
UK
In almost every region where the Switch 2 is available to pre-order, storefronts have already been struggling to meet demand. For example, Very‘s stock of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles went in and out around 9 PM BST on April 2, 2025, in the UK, with the product listing now gone from the site. Smyth’s also had stock that was quickly wiped out.
If you can find stock, you can order the Nintendo Switch 2 console on its own for $449.99 / £395.99 or pick up the Mario Kart World bundle for $499.99 / £429.99. Mario Kart World is launching for $79.99 / £74.99, so there’s a decent bit of added value in going for the bundle.
Pre-orders via the My Nintendo Store started rolling out in the UK on April 8, with priority for those who have a high playtime associated with their Nintendo Switch Online account. As of April 24, official Nintendo pre-order links are now rolling out in the US, but given reports from Japan of the brand struggling to meet demand, we’ve got no idea how many units are available directly from Nintendo.
@pockettactics We got to check out the #NintendoSwitch2 ahead of its June release date, and this year’s most-anticipated console is well worth the wait 🎮✨
