Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 Support Isn’t Ending Despite News Of Sequel In Development

Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have moved to quell fears that support for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be wrapping up following the announcement of Space Marine III.

Writing in a new blog post, the studios promised that they will continue to support Space Marine II despite the fact development on a sequel is in development. The post comes amidst concerns from fans that support for Space Marine II would be ditched in favour of focussing on the new game, but this isn’t the case.

Mid-March, we announced that Space Marine 3 had begun development and we’re excited to see your enthusiasm, although we hear those of you who fear for Space Marine 2 and its future support. So let us set the record straight: Space Marine 3 does not mean the end of Space Marine 2’s development. Far from it. No teams are shifting over, no one is abandoning the game, and our plans to bring more awesome content to Space Marine 2 remain.

This isn’t the first time that Focus Entertainment has had to reassure fans that more content is coming to Space Marine II. Prior to the announcement of Space Marine III back in January, the company promised the community that new updates would be distributed every few months, and the next major content drop will be Season 4, which arrives in Spring 2025 with Horde mode, new enemies and weapons, and an extra PvP mode.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in September 2024, and you can read our full review here.
