Is Mistplay legit – can you get paid to play mobile games?
If it’s too good to be true, it probably is, but for all intents and purposes, Mistplay is perfectly safe and legitimate. How does Mistplay work?
After you download the Mistplay app and create an account, you’ll find yourself on the homepage and will need to download one of the many games. Some top iPhone games and Android games can be found in Mistplay’s library, and occasionally, some titles will have boosts, which means that you’ll temporarily earn more United for a limited time.
As you play games, you’ll reach checkpoints after earning enough GXP, which will reward you with varying amounts of Units – the primary currency and what you’ll need to exchange for various rewards. For example, I played about 15 minutes of RAID and had around 240 Units. Translating that to real amounts, 2000 Units will get you a $5 gift card, so it can stack up fairly fast.
Admittedly, I’ve been putting off RAID: Shadow Legends for years. I’ve thought about giving it a try multiple times after countless YouTube sponsorship trailers and years of seeing it pop up in the App Store on various gaming phones I’ve owned. Mistplay gave me a good reason to finally play it, and I’m happy because RAID: Shadow Legends is really boring.
While the rewards aren’t massive, at the very least, Mistplay makes RAID: Shadow Legends actually worth playing. If I have to watch characters hit enemies with all of the impact of a wet tea towel slap, as I continue feeling my eyes get heavy with each passing battle, at least I’m happy knowing my time is earning me rewards.
If you’re someone who typically finds themselves purchasing some in-game goodies, you’ll also get rewarded Gems as ‘cashback’ on your microtransactions. These Gems can then be converted into Units, so the end result remains the same, but at least you get some money back from spending on different mobile games.

Of course, you’re not going to make a living on Mistplay. While Scrambly does offer better rewards and arguably better games, it’s also in limited regions right now, so Mistplay remains the better option for most players. That being said, Mistplay does have AdVenture Communist, which is a really fun idle game I recommend giving a go. Well, you’re getting paid by Mistplay to play it anyway.
Swagbucks is another popular app that works similarly to Scrambly and Mistplay, and it also offers surveys as another way to earn rewards. There’s also JustPLay and testerup as alternative options, but it’s worth checking to see each app’s offerings as well as their minimum withdrawal amount as you may find yourself having to save a lot before you can actually get your hard-earned rewards. Personally, Scrambly is a favorite if it’s available in your region, as the pay rates for each app are quite upfront, and the selection is impressive.
