Baldur’s Gate III Collector’s Edition Scalpers Called Out By Larian’s Michael Douse For ‘Making People Sad’
Baldur’s Gate III Collector’s Edition scalpers have been called out by Michael Douse, the director of publishing for Larian Studios, for “making [people] sad.”
Douse was responding to an image of a scaler attempting to sell their Baldur’s Gate III Collector’s Edition for the exorbitant price tag of £2,900.00. Here’s what he had to say on X:
Hate scalpers, man. I understand how commodity works, but this CE isn’t a commodity it’s designed to make someone happy, not rich. If you’re buying it to trade, all you’re doing is making someone sad.

Baldur’s Gate III was release for the PS5 in September 2023 having previously released for PC the month before. The game has proven a huge success for Larian Studios, although despite this the company is moving away from the franchise and Dungeon & Dragons in general for its next project. Understandably, their new game is still a long way off, with the company jokingly claiming it’ll arrive in 2029.
