Sakuguchi made Fantasian Neo Dimension thinking it would be his final work, says wider release is a “blessing”

One of the many announcements during today’s Nintendo Direct was the reveal of Fantasian Neo Dimension for Switch. This is a port of Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi’s 2021 RPG for iOS, albeit with tons of extra features, tweaks and more. It also marks the return of Sakaguchi and Square Enix working together, making for a rather emotional reunion.

Following the announcement Fantasian Neo Dimension, a special message from Sakaguchi himself was shared. In that message Sakaguchi speaks about his work on Fantasian, the belief that it would be his final game, and the new partnership with Square Enix making it possible to bring the game to Switch and other platforms. Fantasian Neo Dimension comes to Switch sometime in Holiday 2024.
