Pure Xbox Game Club May 2024: Rise Of The Tomb Raider

Want to enhance your Xbox Game Pass experience? Come join the official Pure Xbox Game Club!

We can’t take any credit on staff for this — the PX Game Club is the work of ralphdibny, Balta666 and the rest of the contributors over at the Pure Xbox forums, who have established a community that meets up every month to play a game on Xbox Game Pass and share their experiences. Games are voted on every month by the contributors involved.

The game for May 2024 is Rise of the Tomb Raider, which is the second game in the “modern” Tomb Raider trilogy. All of three of them are available on Xbox Game Pass, including Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition as of today.

You’ll find the forum thread to get involved below (it has over 3,380 entries to date!):

If you’re interested in what kind of discussion goes on, here’s what a couple of contributors had to say about last month’s two Pure Xbox Game Club titles, Banjo-Kazooie and Solar Ash:

“A little late response, but I actually did complete Kazooie and Tooie. I really got a lot of fun out of them; I would even say they are a few of my favorite games! I even got all 12 achievements for the sequel, but it was honestly harder than the first game.”

“I can definitely understand a lot of the negative opinions people give on the games. They aren’t entirely perfect. I like both for their goofiness and some of the twists they add to change up the gameplay to make it unique (even if they don’t turn out perfect) but I don’t plan on doing another playthrough of Tooie right now because of how time-consuming it could be.”

“Solar Ash, yikes… loved Hyper Light Drifter and was really excited for this to come to Game Pass. Played through half the game when it came out and hated almost every minute of it. The voice acting, the lame story and world-building, the completely bland combat, the goofy camera stuff during boss fights. Terrible. Of course these are all just my opinions, but I was shocked at how much I disliked it compared to my love for HLD.”
