The Callisto Protocol Dev Reveals New Game Set In That World, An Action-Rougelike “Project Birdseye”
Striking Distance Studios, the team behind The Callisto Protocol has announced a new, smaller game that they’re calling Project Birdseye, for now.
Birdseye is an action roguelike set in the world of The Callisto Protocol, where players will shoot-up Black Iron Prison in a much brighter, more colourful version of it.
Looking at the reveal gameplay trailer, it looks more like Striking Distance Studios wanted to take the gameplay of titles like Hades and inject that into the world they created for The Callisto Protocol.
While The Callisto Protocol may not have succeeded in its attempts at being the spiritual successor to Dead Space it was originally pitched to be, there were elements of it that players enjoyed.
This game is obviously very different from The Callisto Protocol, but it’s exciting to see the world created for that game, which definitely has potential to grow, being expanded in this way.
Hopefully we don’t have to wait long to hear more about Project Birdseye, and when we can get our hands on it.
