Dragon’s Dogma 2 Is Capcom’s First $70 Game, But It May Not Be The Last

Capcom‘s upcoming Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the first game from the Resident Evil publisher to retail for $69.99 but the company has indicated it may release more games with that price tag down the line.

Speaking in a translation of its earnings call Q&A session, Capcom revealed that it wasn’t ruling out the possibility of releasing other games for $70.

Dragon’s Dogma 2, which is scheduled for release this fiscal year, will be priced at $69.99. Industry-wide development costs are rising, and we are considering a price review as one option. Ultimately, we intend to take a thoughtful approach in pricing our games while ascertaining user feedback.

Elsewhere, the publisher didn’t disclose how many copies it expects Dragon’s Dogma 2 to sell, but did say the game should be “in the million-selling class.”

Capcom confirmed recently that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will not allow for multiple save slots, and its director made his feelings clear on fast-travel, suggesting that regular travel in video games doesn’t have to be boring; you just have to make it fun for it to work.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is due for release on March 22, 2024 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. We went hands-on with the game in September last year, and you can read our impressions here.
