Xbox’s Blade Developer Arkane Lyon Offers Support After Mass Layoffs

The biggest surprise of last year’s Game Awards show was arguably the reveal of Marvel’s Blade by the Xbox-owned developer Arkane Lyon.

The industry has experienced some mass layoffs in recent weeks and in response to this, the game’s director at this same studio has now offered some support – noting on social media recently how Arkane Lyon is currently recruiting for its new project with more to come.

This latest post was actually in direct response to the cancellation of the latest Deus Ex video game, which was being developed by Eidios, the Montreal, Canada-based studio which is now reportedly focused on an original franchise.

There are currently a total of 9 jobs listed on LinkedIn for Akane Studios in France, ranging from a producer, level artist, senior animator to VFX artist.

So far, Microsoft has shown off a teaser of this new game, apart from this we’ve got some concept art. There’s also been news this new Marvel game will be running on the Void Engine, the same one that powered games like Deathloop and Dishonored.
