So, Are You Getting The Premium Upgrade For Gears Of War: E-Day?

Yep, it’s almost that time again! Gears of War: E-Day will officially be with us on October 6th, but for those people who don’t mind paying a little extra, the Premium, Premium Upgrade and Collector’s Editions are launching on October 1st.
We’re going to focus specifically on the Premium Upgrade version of Gears of War: E-Day in this Talking Point, as it’s the one you get if you’re planning to play the game through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate / PC Game Pass.
Firstly, here’s what’s included with it:
- Up to 5-Days Early Access
- Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack
- Five Seasonal Customization Packs, starting with the Emergence Pack at launch (the remaining packs will be available as released)
- 1,000 Iron (premium in-game currency)

All of this is available for £30.00 / $30.00, which doesn’t include the base game (meaning you’ll need to have access to it through Xbox Game Pass after October 6th if you want to keep playing). The full-fat Premium Edition is £89.99 / $99.99 if you want the base game included on top of everything else.
In other words, you’re pretty much just paying £30.00 / $30.00 for the benefit of five extra days with the game along with a few in-game benefits. The package doesn’t include a future expansion this time around (unlike with Forza Horizon 6, for example), so early access is very much the number one reason to get the Premium Upgrade.
And listen, we know that some people will respond to this by saying “not a chance!”, but we also know that the Premium Upgrade model has proven extremely successful for Xbox in recent years, and considering how long it’s been since the last mainline Gears game, there’s a very good chance they’ll be selling a lot of upgrades for this one.
So, what’ll it be? Come and tell us if you’ll be buying the early access for Gears of War: E-Day down below.
