343 Industries Reveals Multiple New Features Coming To Halo Infinite In 2024

343 Industries has today pulled back the curtain on what to expect from Halo Infinite’s next update that arrives on January 30th, as well as teasing a few features that will be arriving later in 2024. Let’s get stuck in, shall we?!

Halo Infinite “Content Update 29” drops on the 30th, introducing a new Arena map called “Illusion”, new Forge features including a “Covenant object palette”, a free Mark IV armor core, and a Halo Wars-themed “Spirit of Fire” Operation.

Then, as we get deeper into 2024, Halo Infinite will be receiving a “Match Composer” feature for online matchmaking, a new “anti-cheat initiative”, an improved networking system, and new ways of earning older customisation content.

You can get a deep dive on all of this in the video above – and it’s summarised brilliantly in the post below:

It was also mentioned during the stream today that Halo Infinite will no longer be getting new “Seasons” in the future, with this model now being replaced by “Content Updates”. You can still expect a lot of Halo Infinite improvements throughout the year, but it sounds like 343 Industries is slowly winding down development on the game.

In fact, some “brand-new projects” were even teased during the show, promising “exciting things for the future”:

If you’re interested in learning more about any of these new Halo Infinite features for 2024, it’s definitely worth checking out the full Community Livestream up above. 343 Industries will be sharing a “closer look” at some of the main features in the January update in the coming days, ahead of its official release at the end of the month.

As for those “marquee” features that are releasing later in the year, the studio says it’s “excited to let the team cook” for now, but promises to have “plenty more to share on these fronts as they get nearer to release”.
