Free-To-Play Football Game 'UFL' Delayed To 2024 Following Recent Alpha Launch

The upcoming FIFA / EA Sports FC competitor UFL has announced that it’s now aiming for a 2024 launch; bringing free-to-play football to Xbox next year. Taking to Twitter, Strikerz CEO Eugene Nashilov discussed the team’s upcoming plans for the title – alongside a now-inevitable delay.

Previously aiming for a 2023 release, UFL is now shooting for a 2024 launch on Xbox Series X|S. The developer is also set to drop a closed beta ahead of release next year – while a limited Alpha test is already ongoing.

Here’s a chunk of the team’s message ahead of the new year:

“We have launched ALPHA and are currently working on the user feedback & data to deliver the highest product quality.

After ALPHA we plan to release closed BETA weekend. It will be a global massive test with a large audience. If we pass the BETA well, we will publish the date and release the game.

So, in short, it’s 2024. I’m a little sad to agree and apologize we didn’t cover everything the way we planned […] Your feedbacks, comments and support are invaluable for the team and I want to thank you all on our behalf. 2024 will be the decider for what UFL is set to become and I’m hoping to make it together with you and change the football gaming landscape for good.”

We’ll bring you more news as we know it, but for now, expect UFL to be shooting, crossing and dribbling its way onto Xbox consoles sometime in 2024.
