Mortal Kombat 12 Has Been Confirmed, Seemingly Launching In 2023
If a new Street Fighter and Tekken weren’t already enough, it seems we could be getting one more heavy-hitting fighting game in the near future.
In a Warner Bros. Discovery earnings call yesterday, Andrew Slabin – the company’s executive vice president of global investor strategy – noted how “Mortal Kombat 12” was set to arrive this year.
Here’s what he had to say in an audio clip which has since been shared on social media:
“And there’s lots more to come, including the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 12 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – games also set for release this year, with ambitious launch projections.”
Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon made a joke on social media which appeared to indirectly reference the news from the latest earnings call:
Apart from a 2023 release, there’s no set date and we don’t actually know what platforms MK12 is locked into just yet – so stay tuned for a more ‘official’ announcement. This game will follow Mortal Kombat 11, which landed on Xbox platforms in 2019.
