These Are The Top 10 Xbox Backwards Compatibility Requests After 350,000 Votes

So, let’s have a look at how the results are faring! At the time of writing, just over 350,000 votes have been submitted, although this is only made up of around 40,000 unique votes — everyone is allowed to submit 10 per-day.

The original Xbox list is quite varied — there are some absolute gems in the list here:

  1. The Simpsons: Hit & Run
  2. Jet Set Radio Future
  3. Need for Speed: Underground 2
  4. Sonic Heroes
  5. Def Jam: Fight for NY
  6. Burnout 3: Takedown
  7. Spider-Man 2
  8. Ultimate Spider-Man
  9. Crash Twinsanity
  10. Sonic Riders

However, the Xbox 360 list is absolutely dominated by votes from Transformers fans:

  1. Transformers: War for Cybertron
  2. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
  3. Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005)
  4. Transformers: Devestation
  5. Transformers: Dark of the Moon
  6. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
  7. Transformers: The Game
  8. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
  9. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
  10. Deadpool

Putting the absurdity of how many Transformers games are in the top ten aside here, it should also be noted that some of these titles have a slim-to-nil chance of actually being added to the Xbox backwards compatibility program.

As things stand, Xbox is forced to relicense its games for backwards compatibility (while also making sure they actually perform well on Series X and Series S), and so when it comes to the likes of Transformers, Spider-Man and even games like Burnout 3 with a big-name soundtrack, we assume there are too many licensing hurdles to jump over.

But how about the games without big licenses? Here’s a look at the top 10 for “non-franchise” titles:

  1. Alpha Protocol
  2. Eternal Sonata
  3. Brute Force
  4. Wet
  5. The Saboteur
  6. Darkwatch
  7. Gun
  8. Singularity
  9. Remember Me
  10. 25 to Life

Who knows whether we’ll see any of these games added to Xbox backwards compatibility in the future, but by all means head over to Xbox Game Preservation and submit your votes. Even just one or two additions from these would be great!
