Starfield PS5 Crashing Issues To Be Addressed In Patch Aiming For Release This Week, Says Bethesda

Bethesda has acknowledged issues with the PS5 version of Starfield following widespread reports over the weekend of crashing and other bugs, and has stated it aims to address these problems in a patch aimed to launch this week.

Here’s what the publisher had to say in a post on X:

Thanks for sharing your adventures across the Settled Systems this weekend — we’ve loved reading them! We’re aware of some reported PS5 crashing issues and have narrowed them down to a small number of causes. We’re addressing these in a hotfix we’re aiming to release this week. Thanks for flagging, and we’ll keep you posted.

Starfield was released for PS5 on April 7, 2026, although as reported yesterday, many users have reported various problems with the game including dodgy frame rates, crashing, save issues and more. Furthermore, these issues don’t seem to be limited to just the base PS5 version, but also affect users on PS5 Pro, too.
