Is Slay The Spire 2 Coming To PS5?

Is Slay The Spire 2 Coming To PS5? Mega Crit Games’ deckbuilding sequel is now available in Early Access for PC, and to say it’s been a big success is a massive understatement: Slay the Spire 2 reached a peak of 574,638 concurrent players, making it the 20th highest all-time peak on the platform. Given the fact the original Slay the Spire came to consoles, there’s a lot of interest in a potential Slay the Spire 2 PS5 launch – let’s find out more below!
Is Slay The Spire 2 Coming To PS5?
Slay the Spire 2 has not been confirmed for PS5 at the time of publishing. However, a Q&A (via Reddit) from a couple of years back reveals that the team are looking to bring the sequel to “as many as humanely possible! We want as much people to play it as possible, but Steam is the lowest friction platform for us to update, receive feedback, etc and we want it stable and test out a lot of stuff on a large number of players before we propagate that across all the other platforms unless we’re able to obtain the resources to do so in a parallel way without stressing the team.”
As mentioned above, the original Slay the Spire was also released for consoles including PS4 (read our review here), although it didn’t arrive on Sony’s console until two years after it launched in Early Access for PC. The full version arrived in January 2019 for PC, and the PS4 edition followed in May. As such, a PS5 version of Slay the Spire 2 is probably a while off at this point.
