God Of War TV Series Announces Callum Vinson Is Set To Play Atreus

Callum Vinson has been cast as Atreus in Amazon Prime’s upcoming God of War series, Sony Pictures and Amazon MGM Studios have announced today.
The actor has recently garnered a lot of attention for his upcoming role as the young Jason Voorhees in Crystal Lake, the prequel to Friday the 13th, and is set to feature in the third season of The Night Agent on Netflix. He previously appeared in Long Bright River alongside Amanda Seyfried, Chucky, and is the voice behind Piglet in Disney Jr.’s Playdate with Winnie the Pooh.
Atreus, as fans of the God of War video games will recall, is the son of Kratos. Growing up with his father in a remote forest cabin and isolated from the rest of the world, Atreus is an accomplish archer, and has a love for animals and is eager to see what lies beyond the confine of his home. He accompanies Kratos on a journey to scatter his mother’s ashes, bringing him into contact with the dangers and wonders of the Norse world.
The God of War series has unveiled a number of key castings in recent weeks, including Ryan Hurst (Kratos), Max Parker (Heimdall), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson & Mandy Patinkin (Thor & Odin), and Alastair Duncan (Mimir).
God of War is set to begin production in Vancouver, Canada next month and will feature Ronald D. Moore as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. Executive producers including Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Sad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hurst, Roy Lee, and Brad Van Arragon.
