Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Sales Reach 7 Million Worldwide

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has surpassed seven million copies worldwide since its launch for PS4 and Xbox One on January 19, 2019.
This latest milestone is up one million over the same period last year, where the game had moved six million copies globally. Furthermore, this now means that the Ace Combat series has now moved 21 million copies worldwide. Back in 2022, Ace Combat 7 ran a collaboration with Top Gun: Maverick for its then-latest batch of DLC.
Returning to the series’ traditional Strangereal setting, Ace Combat 7 follows fighter pilot Trigger, who is assigned to a penal squadron after they are accused of murder while caught up in the conflict between Osea and Erusea. Ace Combat 7 features 28 different aircraft to take to the skies in, and begins the game with the F-16C, with the likes of MiG-21, F-104C Straighter, F-22A Raptor and more unlock able as the campaign progresses.
In addition to the main story campaign, Ace Combat 7 also features a multiplayer mode featuring Team Deathmatch and Battle Royale modes, and the game also supports PSVR 2 with a series of missions developed specifically for use with Sony’s virtual reality device. DLC meanwhile added additional aircraft, missions, squadrons, markings, and more.
The next instalment in the series, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, is launching in 2026 for PS5.
