Xbox Game Pass Players Are Getting A Fantastic Survival Horror Experience Next Week

If Village has somehow passed you by over the last four or five years, it isn’t all about the Dimitrescu family like pre-launch trailers (and post-launch fandom) might have you believe. Much like older RE titles that have a fantastic sense of place, Village’s main castle and surrounding gardens are the star of the show. The intricate halls, paths and courtyards make backtracking a breeze, and the game’s setting still sticks with me all these years on.

I will add that Village certainly isn’t the most scary of survival horror games; it leans more towards Resident Evil 4 than 7, for example. Personally, I quite like this approach though; my kind of RE is one with a great atmosphere that isn’t afraid to be silly at times. Village is spooky rather than scary, but it’s a world that I loved being in and will probably revisit on Xbox Game Pass this month.
