New Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra charging leak points to a boost that would outdo the iPhone 17 Pro Max

It’s no secret that Samsung is one of the most successful brands in the Android arena, offering handsets with top-tier performance, great displays, and stellar cameras. However, in recent years, the Korean giant’s flagships have struggled to compete with the likes of equivalent devices from Xiaomi, Honor, and others in terms of battery life and charging. Well, it looks like the latter might not be a problem for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
According to a China Compulsory Certification listing, via InnoGyan, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra offers 60W charging. That isn’t the only evidence we’ve got, though, as the brand has also started selling 60W chargers on its official website. For context, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra only offers 45W juicing speeds, so the combination of the CCC leak and the new charger listing points towards a boost for the S26 Ultra.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple’s latest premium flagship, is only capable of 40W charging. That means that if the leaks are true, Samsung would have something to boast about over its main rival, with the S26 Ultra offering superior speeds. Given the fierce rivalry between the two, you can expect Samsung to make a pretty big deal of the charging improvement when the S26 Ultra launches.
Admittedly, 60W still pales in comparison to what some of the top picks from our guide to the best gaming phones are capable of, such as the REDMAGIC 11 Pro’s 80W charging, but it’s still a welcome improvement. That is, if the battery life is similarly impressive. Rapid charging speeds are great, but if the phone drains quickly, you’re still going to have to reach for your charger more than you’d like.
Unfortunately, it looks like we’ve still got a while to wait to be sure of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s juicing capabilities, as we’re not anticipating the big launch until late February 2026. That means we could be waiting until March to actually get our hands on the phone. Still, if it offers increased charging speeds, as well as the high level of performance we’re anticipating from its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the wait should be worth it.
